27th of November. The flyfishing season is definetely over, the river is now covered with ice!

Statistics of reported catches 2010

2010 has been a difficult summer for the fishermen. The waterlevel was 20 to 50 cms over the normal more or less all the time and in short periods even much higher. This phenomena made the access to fishingspots difficult and the fishing very challenging. We had difficult fishing conditions also in 2009, but this season has been even worse. Compare with statistics on the "News 2008" page. Let's hope we'll have a "normal" summer again 2011!

Fishermen from 16 nations (all times high) visited Gjerfloen Flyfishing this summer. Sweden is on the top as usual. Germany and Switzerland are up. Compare with statistics on the "News 2008" page.

10th of October. This morning the waterlevel is down 8 cms since yesterday morning and the waterflow is 124 m3/s. Watertemperature 4 C degrees.

9th of October. This morning the waterlevel is 14 cms down since yesterday morning and the waterflow is 137 m3/s. Watertemperature 4 C degrees.

8th of October. Rain two days ago filled up the river again and the flood culminated yesterday evening. This morning the waterlevel is 7 cms down since yesterday night and the waterflow is 153 m3/s. Watertemperature 4 C degrees.

6th of October. The waterflow this morning is 112 m3/s. Watertemperature 4 C degrees.

5th of October. Warm winds have been melting snow in the mountains up north and the waterflow this morning is 116 m3/s. The waterlevel is 15 cms up since yesterday, but culminated before noon today. Watertemperature 4 C degrees.

4th of October. The waterflow this morning is 99 m3/s, 1 cm down since yesterday. Watertemperature 4 C degrees.

3rd of October. The waterlevel is down 3,5 cms since yesterday. Watertemperature up to 4 C degrees this morning.

2nd of October. The waterlevel is down 4 cms since yesterday and the waterflow is aprox. 110 m3/s. Watertemperature 3 C degrees this morning.

1st of October. The waterlevel is down 5 cms since yesterday and 60 cms down since the 25th of September! The waterlevel at the moment is normal in the middle of June, but 50 cms higher than normal for the time being. Nice weather for fishing is predicted for this week end. Watertemperature 3 C degrees this morning.

30th of September. The waterlevel is down 14 cms since the 28th. The high airpreassure and nice weather goes on. No waterflow figures from the power station today (moosehunting in the area this week) . Compared with similar waterlevels earlier this summer, the waterflow this morning is aprox. 130 m3/s. Watertemperature 3 C degrees this morning.

28th of September. The waterlevel is down 12 cms since yesterday. The high airpreassure and nice weather continue. No waterflow figures from the power station today, watertemperature 3 C degrees this morning.

27th of September. The Waterlevel is down 30 cms since Saturday. Still high water, but from Thursday it will be OK for fishing again. High airpreassure and nice weather is predicted the days ahead. No waterflow figures from the power station today.

26th of September. The flood culminated yesterday evening and the waterlevel is this morning decreasing 2 cms per hour. Waterflow this morning 270 m3/s and watertemperature 4 C degrees.

25th of September. Yesterday the waterlevel was up 60 cms and it is still rising (10 o'clock am), but will turn down again late in the afternoon. Nevertheless, Luc Marcelis, Belgium, landed 5 graylings yesterday, biggest 43,5 cms! You shall never say never....! Waterflow 280 m3/s and watertemperature 4 C degrees at 3 o'clock pm today. The waterlevel is now up 90 cms the last 36 hours. Still, fishing is not totaly impossible. I landed 3 czech nymph graylings today between 2 and 3 o'clock pm!

24th of September. Heavy rain last night and yesterday evening is bringing the waterlevel up more than two cms per hour at the moment. More rain is predicted today and tonight so the waterlevel might go up more than 60 cms before it turns down again tomorrow evening. Next week we shall have high air preassure and nice weather so the fishing conditions will gradually improve again. The waterflow is up to 95 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 8 C degrees. The fishing conditions this week end will be good only for those who want to get away from something...

23rd of September. The waterflow is down to 84 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 7 C degrees. 4 fishermen from Poland and Belgium on the flyzone today and the conditions today are the best since the 16th of September. About the initiative "Salmon back to the Trysil River", see the photogallery page.

22nd of September. The waterflow is down to 89 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 6 C degrees.

21st of September.The waterflow is down to 88 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 7 C degrees.

20th of September. We had rain last week end and high water made the fishing very tricky, but now the waterflow is down again to 90 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 7 C degrees. The weather prognoses are quite good and I think we shall have good fishing conditions next week end.

17th of September. Waterflow down to 87 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees. 2 Germans landed 41 graylings yesterday. Superpuppa, Sawyers nymph and Pink Panter were the winners. Nice weather and very little rain is predicted for the week end and next week.

16th of September. Rain yesterday brought the waterflow a little up again last night, 90 m3/s also this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees. 2 Germans landed 10 graylings in a short time yesterday between 6 and 7 pm.

15th of September. Rain yesterday brought the waterflow a little up again last night, 87 m3/s also this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees. Just a little rain is predicted the rest of the week and the waterflow will slowly decrease.

14th of September. The waterflow culminated yesterday evening and was 85 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees.

13th of September. Rain Saturday night brought the waterflow up to 83 m3/s this morning. The flow will culminate this afternoon. Watertemp 9 C degrees. Roger Ôst, Sweden, landed 7 graylings yesterday, 30 - 44 cms. All on dryfly.

11th of September. Waterflow down to 70 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees. The fishing conditions at the moment are the best so far this summer!

10th of September. Waterflow down to 72 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 10 C degrees. The fishing conditions and weather are still very good.

9th of September. Waterflow down to 74 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 10 C degrees. The fishing conditions and weather are very good at the moment.

8th of September. Waterflow down to 76 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 10 C degrees.

7th of September. Waterflow down to 77 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 10 C degrees.Yesterday was the best fishingday so far this season. One swedish (20), one norwegian (myself 11) and five fishermen from Belgium landed more than 150 graylings during the day. Kingfisher was Philippe Leboutte, Belgium (45 landed graylings).

6th of September. Waterflow down to 79 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 10 C degrees. Fishing conditions are quite good. I landed 11 czech nymph graylings between 08.00 and 09.00 this morning.

5th of September. Waterflow down to 81 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees.

4th of September. Waterflow down to 83 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees.

3rd of September. Waterflow down to 86 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 9 C degrees. Weather and fishing conditions are OK this weekend

2nd of September. Waterlevel goes on sinking rapidly. Waterflow 91 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 10 C degrees. Five fishermen from Belgium on the flyzone today and they had quite good nymphfishing before noon, graylings up to 45 cms. See picture on the photogallery page.

1st of September. Waterlevel rapidly down. Waterflow 105 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 12 C degrees.

31st of August. Waterlevel down 30 cms since Sunday and the flow at the moment is aprox 125 m3/s.

29th of August. Nearly 40 mms of rain the last two days brought the waterflow up to 110 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 11 C degrees. The rain will stop today, but the flood will not culminate before late in the evening. Next week the prophets predict no rain so the fishing conditions might be normal again next week end. Nevertheless, the fishing yesterday was quite good even if it was raining most of the day. Nymph before noon and dryfly in the afternoon. Latest News at 5 o'clock PM. The waterflow is at the moment aprox 130 m3/s and the waterlevel is going up 3 cms per hour. An hour ago when the rain was over, I went down to the shooting range area to look at the "disaster", and what did I see? A massive hatching of mayflies size 16 - 18 and frequently rising graylings! Unbelieveable! Concerning fish and fishing there is one thing that is for sure: You can never be sure!

26th of August. The flood culminated last night and the waterflow is now going down again, 95 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 13 C degree. Latest news at 01.00 pm: At the moment the waterlevel is going rapidly down; 0,5 cms per hour.

25th of August. Rain yesterday and last night brought the waterflow up to 90 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 13 C degrees.

24th of August. Waterflow down to 71 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 14 C degrees. Some rain last night and today might bring the waterflow a little up again.

26th of July. Rain yesterday brought the waterflow up to 89 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 14 C degrees. Fishing yesterday evening was quite good. Black with a little flash was the best.

25th of July. Waterflow down to 87 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 14 C degrees.

24th of July. Waterflow down to 91 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 14 C degrees. After a period with difficult fishing, the last two days have been considerably better. Team Benenowsky, Germany, landed several nice graylings between 35 and 40 cms yesterday. Emergers were their best choice. Martin Jantsch, Germany, had good fishing with a black dryfly on the lower part of the flyzone late yesterday evening. For the first time this summer the fishing conditions for are beginning to be really good

11th of July. Waterflow down again to 97 m3/s today. Watertemp 17 C degrees. Difficult fishing yesterday, but Bo Jørgensen, Denmark landed 15 graylings and 2 brown trouts in the afternoon. All sizes up to +40 cms.

9th of July. Rain yesterday brought the waterflow up again to 111 m3/s today. Watertemp 16 C degrees.

8th of July. Waterflow down to 107 m3/s. Watertemp 16 C degrees. Fishing conditions are beginning to be good. The waterlevel is now the lowest since the beginning of May and many hotspots are reachable.7th of July. Waterflow down to 111 m3/s. Watertemp 16 C degrees.

6th of July. Waterflow down to 113 m3/s. Watertemp 15 C degrees.

5th of July. Waterflow down to 117 m3/s. Watertemp 15 C degrees.

3rd of July. Waterflow down to 126 m3/s. Watertemp 15 C degrees. Periods of hatching and risings during the day. The danica is still there, but a lot of different "stuff" are also on the water these days.

1st of July. Rain yesterday brought the waterflow up again to 134 m3/s today. Watertemp 14 C degrees. Nice weather today and a lot of different insects in the air and on the water. The graylings are rising constantly, but are not easy to catch. The danica is hatching, but sedges are dominating. Matti Fuxborn, Sweden, had nice fishing today with a small black body dryfly. Bengt Göran Jansson, Sweden, had success with a danica imitation.

29th of June. Waterflow 115 m3/s. Watertemp 14 C degrees. High water most of June has made the flyfishing quite difficult. However, there has been periods with massive hatching and risings. The best day so far was the 22nd of June. Robert Isaksson, Sweden, landed 44 graylings and Mariusz Rod, Poland, landed 31 graylings. At the moment "The Green Drake" (danica) has just begun to appeare on the water and I expect to see a lot of them during the weekend and beginning of next week.

The June and September results are quite normal while July and August were very bad because of high water. Two swedish fishermen had two days of good fishing in October. Compare with statistics on the "News 2008" page.
