from Gjerfloen Flyfishing 2002 Back Report
3rd of November. 168 fishing licences are sold and approximately 1250 fishes
are landed this summer. The season started much earlier than normal and we had
good fishing till July 11th. Then the rain started and we did not get normal waterlevel
again before the 10th of August. The last part of August, September and first
part of October we had very good fishing conditions, but by some reason or other,
not so many fly fishers took advantage of this. Fishing

Catchreports
from 90 fishermen on Gjerfloen Flyfishing 2002 show that 962 fishes more than
20 cm are landed, - 954 graylings and 8 brown trouts. Only 4 fishes are reported
killed. Report
27th of October. Flyfishing
is still possible
on
Gjerfloen. Not even drifting icepieces on the water, prevented fishing journalist
Erland Fjell from getting the fish-pictures he needed for a comming article in
the Norwegian fishing magazine "Alt om Fiske". (See photogallery)
Report
18th of October. We
have now got some snow on the ground, but there are still open water. We have
still low water and perfect conditions for fishing. (See photogallery) Report
13th of October. In
spite of low temperature and snowflakes in the air, two Swedes successfully landed
a few graylings on the fly zone today. See photogallery. Report

Fishing
conditions superb.
Report
3rd of October. Fishing
conditions superb. At the moment we have the lowest waterlevel for many years,
less than 35m3/s. In this part of the river we have this experience: The lower
waterlevel, the better fishing conditions. No fishermen on the flyzone since
Sunday. Report
30th of September. Fishing
conditions superb. Waterflow about 35m3/s. Three Swedes from Älvdalen, Sweden,
visited Gjerfloen on Sunday (29th). Here is the catchreport from Leif Sörensen:
Less than 20 cm: 1, 20 - 24 cm: 0, 25 - 29 cm: 7,
30 - 34 cm: 6, 35 - 39 cm: 5, 40 - 44 cm: 1. Report
28th of September. Fishing
conditions superb. Waterflow about 35m3/s. Colder weather yesterday influenced
negatively on the fishing. 6 Swedes from Gothenberg fishing on Gjerfloen Flyfishing
the 27th caught together 39 fishes. Here are there catchreport: Less than 20 cm:
2, 20 - 24 cm: 6, 25 - 29 cm: 9, 30 - 34 cm: 18,
35 - 39 cm: 3, 40 - 44 cm: 1. Report
27th of September. Fishing
conditions superb. Waterflow less than 40 m3/s.
6
Danes fishing on Gjerfloen Flyfishing the 26th and caught together 50 fishes.
Here are there catchreport: Less than 20 cm: 3, 20 - 24 cm: 3,
25 - 29 cm: 12, 30 - 34 cm: 15, 35 - 39 cm: 15, 40 - 44 cm:
2. See photogallery. Report
25th of September. No
locals are fishing today. Why? It's D-day! Or in other words, moosehunting starts
today. Report
24th of September. No
fishermen on the flyzone since Saturday. On Thursday, a group of 6 Danish fishermen
will visit Gjerfloen. Fishing conditions are superb and if we get nice and for
the time being warm weather, I expect good catches. Report
22nd of September. Friday
(20th) the fishing was not too bad. Per Svensson, Andreas Ljusterdal and Lars
Brändström from Västerås, Sweden, caught 14 graylings.
20 - 24 cm: 4, 25 - 29 cm: 2, 30 - 34 cm: 4, 35 - 39 cm:
3, 40 - 44 cm: 1. Saturday (21st) we had some rain and low temperature.
Even if the weatherconditions for flyfishing could have been better, the three
+ Max Jarno and Roger Englöf, also Västerås, caught 33
graylings: Less than 20 cm: 2, 20 - 24 cm: 7, 25 - 29 cm: 10,
30 - 34 cm: 5, 35 - 39 cm: 8, 40 - 44 cm: 1.
Report
21st of September. A
team from Västerås, Sweden, have had nice nymph-fishing on the fly-zone
yesterday and today. See photogallery. Report
19th of September. Nice
weather this morning (06.00, - minus 2C degrees). This week-end there will be
flyfishermen from Sweden on the flyzone. If this weather continous, fishing conditions
will be superb, - so if they don't succeed, they shall have to make up other excuses!
Report
18th of September. Yesterday
we also had some minor rainshowers to fresh up the water. In spite of the superb
fishing conditions nobody has been fishing on the fly-zone since Sunday. Report
17th of September. Yesterday
we had some rainshowers and as it was not too much water in them it was a good
refreshment to the river and for the fish. Fishing conditions are superb and have
not been better since August 1999! Report
16th of September. Fishing
conditions still superb. Fishermen from Oslo caught 19 graylings yesterday. Not
an impressing number, but 9 of them (the graylings!) were between 35 and 45 cm.
Report
15th of September. Fishing
conditions still superb. Hunting season is on. Good wood grouse hunting in our
district this year. 4 hunters report 21 birds in four and a half days. Two others
report 10 birds in the same period. See photogallery. Report
14th of September. Also
to day we shall have superb fishing conditions. The wateflow today should be less
than 45 m3/s. This means that you now by wading can place your fly also on the
most unreachable pools.
Report
13th of September. The
perfect fishing conditions we have had for a period of time continuoue. Some raindrops
after a dry period like we have this morning, normally give the graylings extra
appetite. No artificial fly has been served on the fly zone since last Sunday
so there are no catches to report. Report
12th of September. Nice
weather and low water (approx. 50 m3/s) has generated superb flyfishing conditions
at the moment. I just wonder why so few flyfishermen are seen under these perfect
circumstances, while there normally are lots of them when the conditions are not
so good. Could it be that it is safer to go fishing under bad conditions, cause
then you always have an excuse..... Report
10th of September. No
rain yesterday and weather reports saying that we shall have nice weather the
rest of the week, indicates perfect fishing conditions the comming days. Report
9th of September. Some
rainshowers yesterday have generated a smaller increase in the waterflow, but
fishing conditions are still very good. This week-end two Norwegian flyfishermen,
Jørn Hagen and John Paulsen, were fishing on Gjerfloen. They delivered
this catch report: 43 graylings, biggest 45 cm. Less than 30 cm: 14. 30
- 34 cm: 14. 35 - 39 cm: 8. + 40 cm: 7. Se pictures on "Photogallery".
Report
8th of September. Some
rainshowers yesterday and last night led to a smaller waterflow increase this
morning. The flow at the moment might have gone up to something like 65 m3/s but
fishing conditions are still very good. Report
6th of September. Some
rainshowers yesterday led to a smaller waterflow increase. The flow at the moment
might be something like 55 m3/s and fishing conditions are very good. Report
5th of September. Some
rain this morning will probabely continue during the day. This will most likely
leed to a minor waterflow increase. If we don't get to much rain, conditions for
fishing will be very good also the comming days. Report
4th of September. Waterlevel
goes on decreasing and fishing conditions in the streamy parts of the river near
the border to Sweden have not been better since 1999! The graylings have now gathered
in the holes with smooth water in the current and there are lots of them on small
areas! Just find these holes and you..... Report
3rd of September. Waterlevel
down again on approximately 55 m3/s. Fishing conditions are very good. We saw
yesterday that even if the conditions are good, the fish are not always easy to
catch. Three flyfishermen from Karlstad, Sweden, were fishing on the flyzone yesterday.
Two of them caught nearly nothing, while the more experienced Göran Lundqvist
landed 28 graylings. 13 less than 30 cm, 7 between 30 - 35
and 8 between 35 - 40. Report
2nd of September. The
minor waterlevel increase we had yesterday is this morning reduced to nearly the
same we had on Friday 30th (less than 60 m3/s). Perfect waterlevel, rainrefreshed
water and favourable temperature should indicate nice catches for the Swedish
group of flyfishers from Karlstad who are going to visit the flyzone later today. Report
1st of September. Yesterday
we had at times very heavy rain. As we have had no rain for three weeks, the soil
was very dry and therefore the increase in the waterlevel was rather insignificant.
Now we have nice weather again and fishing conditions are very good. Report
31st of August. Tonight
we have had real rain for the first time in three weeks. It is predicted that
it will go on during the day. Some rain to fresh up the fishing waters now is
OK, but we shall not have too much of it. If I could, I should have gone fishing
this morning. A change in the weather very often wakes the fish and some rain
after a long dry period always gives very good catches here. Report
30th of August. The
small rain we had last night had no influence on the the waterlevel "downfall".
The flow at the moment must be less than 55 m3/s, which means superb fishing conditions
on the lower part of the fly-zone. No fishermen on the flyzone since the two Czechs
had a physical "training-camp" for the graylings there last week-end.
Now the graylings should have recovered and are certainly fit for fight again
this week-end. Report
29th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
must be near 55 m3/s. No fishermen on the flyzone the last two days. According
to the weatherforecast there will be no rain in this area the comming days. This
means superb fishing conditions on the lower part of the fly-zone the comming
week-end. Report
28th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
must be near 60 m3/s. Fishing conditions are superb. No fishing on the flyzone
yesterday. I also think the graylings needed a resting day after the heavy attacks
from the two Czechs
the previous two days. Report
27th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
must be approx. 65 m3/s. Fishing conditions are superb. Two Czech experts have
been fishing Sunday and Monday (average 7 hours pr day) and landed 157 graylings
and 2 brown trouts (see photogallery). Here are their catch
reports: Less than 20 cm: 2, 20 - 24 cm: 10, 25 - 28 cm: 35,
30 - 34 cm: 52, 35 - 39 cm: 44, 40 - 44 cm: 15, 45 - 49 cm:
1. All released. Report
26th of August (06.30). The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
must be less than 70 m3/s. Perfect fishing conditions and the river is now more
or less wadeable everywhere. The rule here is the opposite to what it is most
other places: The less water, the better fishing! Yesterday two real experts
from the Czech Republic visited the flyzone (69 graylings and 1 brown trout),
and they will go on fishing also today (See photogallery). Report
25th of August (06.00). The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
might be approx. 70 m3/s. Perfect fishing conditions. Yesterday a group of 7 flyfishermen
from Karlstad, Sweden, visited the fly-zone. I have not yet received their catch
reports, but I know that at least some of them were doing very well. Later today
I'll be guiding two professionals from Czech Republic (members of the National
Flyfishing Team). Reports are comming tomorrow. Report
23rd of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
might be approx. 75 m3/s. Perfect fishing conditions, and yesterday two smiling
fishermen were seen on the flyzone. "Goldheads" worked best before noon,
while dryflies (even if very few risings were observed) were the best choice in
the afternoon. See photogallery. Report
22nd of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
might be less than 80 m3/s. Perfect fishing conditions, and this week-end traffic
is announced on the fly zone also, so now we'll see what it really is like! Report
21st of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and the waterflow at the moment
should be approximatetely 80 m3/s. Perfect fishing conditions, but where are the
fishermen? Report
20th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and this morning we have the lowest
waterlvel so far this summer, which means that fishing conditions on the downstream
part of the Gjerfloen fly zone is beginning to be superb. If this goes on I am
very much looking forward to the comming week end. Two members of the Czech National
Flyfishing Team will be fishing here for two days and I guess it's going to be
a real fishing bonanza! Report
19th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" still goes on and this morning the river is back
to the level we had before the rain started on Monday (12th), which means perfect
conditions on the downstream part of the Gjerfloen fly zone. If this weather keeps
on, we can really look forward to a nice "after-summer" fishing season.
This river is in many ways quite the opposite of the salmon and sea-trout rivers
on the west coast. Here is the rule: The less water the better fishing. Report
18th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" has been going on since Wednesday (14th) and
it's just a few cm left till we are back to the level we had before the rain started
on Monday (12th), which means perfect conditions on the downstream part of the
Gjerfloen fly zone. At the moment we have the best fishing before noon. This because
of the very warm days heatening the water. The colder and longer nights gives
the water "refreshments" (lower temperature and more oksygen) which
are appreciated by the trouts and the graylings. Report
16th of August. The
waterlevel "rush down" goes on and I guess that to morrow morning we
are back again under the magic 90 m3/s which means perfect conditions on the downstream
part of the Gjerfloen fly zone. Already yesterday before noon the graylings showed
interest for flies again. Even if there were no risings and no hatching, several
of them broke the watersurface to snatch an artificial fly! (See photogallery)
Report
15th of August. Since
yesterday morning the water level at the Gjerfloeen Flyzone
area has gone down incredible 25 cm! It's only 15 cm left till we
are under the magic 90 m3/s again. No more rain and we shall have good conditions
for fishing this week end. Report
14th of August. Yesterday
before noon the river nearly "exploded". The waterlevel went up nearly
50 cm during a few hours. To night it has rushed down 10 cm again. (Easy comes
easy goes?). At the moment I can't get exact flow figures from the powerstation,
but my guess is that we now have aproximately 160 m3/s. Meteorologists have announced
that we should have no more rain for the rest of the week. If they turn out to
be right there will be, if not perfect conditions for fishing, so at least possible
to practise fishing activity in a more or less normal way the comming week-end.
Report
13th of August. Yesterday
evening and last night we have had some very heavy rainshowers again. The water
has reacted by going up again and will probabely do so through out the day. The
waterlevel has gone up about 50 cm since yesterday afternoon (meassured 1400 today). Report
12th of August. The
waterlevel in the Trysil river goes on sinking and should now have crept under
the magic 90 m3/s. Yesterday fishermen from Âlvdalen, Sweden, visited Gjerfloen.
During a few hours in the middle of the day Leif Sörensen's catch report
showed this dry-fly grayling-catch even if there were no risings: 1 between
20 - 24 cm, 4 betw 25- 29, 5 betw 30 - 34, 4 betw 35 - 39,
2 betw 40 - 44 cm. This shows that conditions finally are back to normal
again. Right weather, right time and right man (woman) should now give record
catches! Report
11th of August. The
waterlevel in the Trysil river goes on sinking and should now have reached the
magic 90 m3/s. If we don't get too much rain the days ahead, conditions for fishing
on the downstream part of Gjerfloen flyzone the week to come is going to be extremely
good. Report
10th of August. The
waterlevel in the Trysil river goes on sinking and is now approaching the magic
90 m3/s. Testfishing late yesterday evening proved that the grayling's time
of fasting is definitely over. Fishing before noon today (the classic period
0800 - 1100 am) should be even better as the watertemp. has gone further down
during the night. Report
9th of August. The
waterlevel in the Trysil river goes on creeping down. Even if I can't get exact
figures, the flow now must be less than 100 m3/s. Fishing conditions on the flyzone
are beginning to be very good. The nights are also colder now and that benefits
the grayling. I shall check out fishing this evening, and I shall be astonished
if the fishing has not improved considerably! Report
8th of August. No
rainshowers yesterday and the waterlevel is continously going down. The flow this
morning should be about 100 m3/s and that means good conditions for flyfishing.
There has been very little rising the previous week (may be the watertemperature
has been too high for the grayling's optimal well-being), but normally we should
have colder nights from now on. This might wake the grayling's appetite again.
Report
7th of August. Only
a few local tiny rainshowers yesterday afternoon too, and the waterlevel is continously
going down. Again the powerstation have problems with publishing correct waterflow
figures, my private guess is aprox. 105 m3/s. This flow would be normal at the
end of June and the river is now easily accesible for wading. Report
6th of August. Just
a few local rainshowers yesterday afternoon were not enough to prevent the waterlevel
going down again. Less than 110 m3/s this morning. Norwegian
Championship Flyfishing in Trysil the 3rd and 4th oh August 2002.
Nice
weather and not so good fishing, but a very well organized arrangement is a brief
summing up of the two days from the partisipants. See pictures on the photogallery
page. Results and other info you can find here: www.nkff.com
Report
5th of August. Rainshowers
yesterday afternoon and this morning
will
probabely stop the fall of the waterlevel again.
The weatherprophets foretell nice weather, but the weathergods are teasing them
again. Report
4th of August. Nice
and dry weather yesterday and the waterlevel keeps on rushing down. 112 m3/s at
the powerstation today. Warm weather generated insectactivity and risings from
10 o'clock last night. Report
3rd of August. As
we had no rain yesterday the waterlevel is now in full speed down again. I guess
that figures from the powerstation later today will show something like 120 m3/s.
Report
2nd of August.
The flow today is more or less the same we have had the last couple of days. Figures
from the powerstation: 127 m3/s. Report
1st of August.
The waterflow was up to 129 m3/s this morning. Norwegian Championship Flyfishing
will take place in Trysil this week-end and Gjerfloen Flyfishing zone will be
one of the arenas. As there seem to be not so many participants as first estimated,
the eastern bank of the fly-zone will be available for other fishermen. Report
and pictures from this event will be on the web in the beginning of next week. Report
31st of July. Rainshowers
yesterday evening have kept the waterlevel unchanged since yesterday. 125 m3/s
at the powerstation this morning too, but the flow has had a minor increase today
and the figures might be a little higher tomorrow. Report
30th of July. 125
m3/s also this morning. Some rainshowers yesterday evening obviously have temporarely
stopped the decreace in the waterlevel falling. Report
29th of July. Still
no
waterflow-figures available from the powerstation, but tomorrow
they promised new figures. The waterlevel is nearly racing down
and with the warm weather we have had to day (28 degrees C) I am looking very
much forward to get the flow figures from the powerstation tomorrow. Late this
evening I got the figures: 125 m3/s. Just a few more days without rain now
and we are back to normal. Report
28th of July. No
waterflow-figures available from the powerstation till Monday.
The water goes on sinking rapidly. The flow today is estimated to be redused to
aproximately 130 m3/s. The weatherprophets wrong again. The promised sunshine
from blue sky is absent, but, - what is more important, we have no rain. Report
27th of July. No
waterflow-figures available from the powerstation till Monday.
The water goes on sinking rapidly. The flow this aternoon is estimated to be redused
to aproximately 140 m3/s. The graylings were obviously woken up by the warm and
sunny weather today and a number of nice graylings were landed by the swedish
"Linköping gjenget" this afternoon. The fishing is expected to
be even better tomorrow. Report
26th of July. No
waterflow-figures available from the powerstation today.
We have had no rain since 24th and the waterlevel is sinking rapidly. The flow
is estimated to be redused from 160 m3/s yesterday to less than 150 m3/s today.
The fact that there were some hatching and risings yesterday afternoon should
indicate that the predicted warm weather this week-end must generate some more
insect hatching. Well, we all know how the graylings react under such circumstances.
Report
25th of July. The
rain we had yesterday evening was not enough to stop the waterlevel going down.
The waterflow at the powerstation this morning was 160 m3/s. Even if the waterflow
for
the time being is nearly twice of normal, the fish must have food.
If we get what the weather prophets have promised, - sunshine and warm weather
this week-end, there should be some hatching to inspire the graylings to breake
the watersurface again.
Report
24th of July. No
waterflow-figures available from the powerstation today. At Plassen
the waterlevel has been more or less constant since yesterday caused by some more
rain yesterday evening. As there have been only a few very tiny rainshowers this
afternoon, it is expected that the waterlevel this evening will be on its way
down again. Report
23rd of July. The
rain yesterday resulted in 15 mm precipitation
at Plassen. The rainfall over the district has generated the waterflow up to 173
m3/s this afternoon. The waterlevel has now reached its maximum and as we have
had only a few rainshowers today the waterlevel will be decreasing again tonight.
We shall certainly have unnormally high water for some days ahead, but the weatherprognoses
for the comming days are good and
fishing might be OK again next week-end even if the water still will be high.
Report
22nd of July.
The rainshowers last week has kept the river back from changing to normal after
the "spring tide" July 11th. Today the waterflow at Lutufallet Powerstation
is 160 m3/s. Normal for this time of the year should be less than 100 m3/s. However,
even if the waterlevel is high, more or less similar to what we had last year,
fishing is possible. If the weather and temperature is right, we can even have
nice fishing on the right spots. Report
14th of July.
Trysil river soon back to normal!
The river is slowly changing back to normal. However, it is a large watersystem
and I guess it takes a week or so before we can see the river like it was before
July 11th. There will be no updating of this page till July 22nd as I'm going
north-west for seatroutfishing. This period my wife will take care of fishing
liceces and info. Report
13th of July. Fishing again
in Trysil river! The waterlevel
continues to go down very rapidly. Even if there still is some "sherry"
in the water, the river has regained most of its transparency. We have had nice
and warm weather today and even if the water still is high, my guess is that this
evening and tomorrow we will see the graylings rising again. Report
12th of July. Still
no fishing in Trysil river! Last night the waterlevel went down approximately
20 cm and the watercolour is better, but no flyfishing today either. Keep on "charging
the batteries", have patience and just wait, - we fishermen are used to that.
(See pictures on the photogallery) Report
11th of July. No
fishing in Trysil river today! Last night a tropical thunderstorm struck
the central and northern parts of Trysil and Engerdal and caused a "spring
tide" in the Trysil river. The waterlevel jumped up more than one meter during
a few hours before noon today and the waterflow is estimated to be more than 250
m3/s this afternoon. Normal for the time being should be 90 m3/s. The onrush of
water from the sideriver Elta, swept away three bridges and a house. Several roads
have been damaged and closed for traffic. The Trysil river has today been more
or less like a brown porridge, totally opaque. If you have planned to visit the
Trysil river for fishing the next couple of days, I would rather advice you to
stay in bed, at the bardisk or whatever you prefer when fishing has rendered impossible.
(See pictures on the photogallery page) Report
9th of July.
The waterflow is continuing to go down even if there still is a little rain in
the air now and then and the waterlevel is OK for fishing. When can we again tune
in with the good old Beatles' melody: "Here comes the sun"!? Report
8th of July.
The waterflow is on its way down again. As indicated on Friday (5th) the fishing
this week-end was not too good even if there were shorter periods of "willingness".
I think we should like to ask the weathergods a favour: "Sunshine and warm
weather, please." Report
6th of July.
The waterflow has continued to go up since yesterday and is now approximately
+ 110 m3/s again. Last night we had a mild and nice weather and there were a lot
of risings, but noone were fishing on the flyzone. New fishermen are comming later
today. Report
5th of July.
Today the waterflow is a little up again caused by the rain we had last night.
The flyfishing was therefore not so good before noon today. Nice weather this
aternoon and quite good dry fly fishing (yellow/brown superpuppa). The weather
reports are saying that we shall have rainshowers till Monday and sunshine again
from Tuesday. This might leed to not so good fly fishing this weekend, but we
have seen before that the weatherprophets not always are to rely on so we just
have to wait and see. Report
4th of July.
Today the waterflow is further down and the fishing conditions on the downstream
parts of the fly-zone are beginning to be real good. The germans have had good
fishing so far today with black "Superpuppa". To night they will try
again with black muddlers and sedges. Report
3rd of July.
It was not that rainy yesterday so the waterlevel will go on falling also today.
There will be no waterflow figures the comming days because the powerstation is
undergoing repairs. The lower waterflow the better is the fishing on the downstream
part of the flyzone. At the end August 1999 the waterflow was less than 40 m3/s
and the fishing then was absolutely marvellous. As there were no fishermen on
the flyzone yesterday, there is nothing to report. 50 fishermen have so far returned
29 cathreports. These tell that since the 20th of June more than 400 fishes have
been landed. 4 Swedes, "Team Götene", have had greatest success
till now. During two days they landed more than 150 graylings mainly hooked by
means of brown "Klinkhammer". Report
2nd of July.
Today the waterflow is down on 99 m3/s. This is normal for this time of the year.
No fishermen on the fly-zone today (resting day for the fish). The weather forecast
says that we shall have some rain today. This may influence the waterflow a little
for tomorrow. The fishing yesterday evening was not so good. The reason could
be a fall in the airpressure caused by the weatherchange. Report
1st of July.
Today the waterflow is down on 102 m3/s and will probably go further down during
the rest of the day and night when we have had only a few very tiny rainshowers
today. Three Germans were fishing from 0730 till 1130 this morning. Most of the
graylings were around 35 cm and some bigger, up to 45 cm. Best success with "goldheads".
Report
30th of June.
Today the waterflow is down again on 105 m3/s and will probably go further down
during the night even if we have had some rainshowers today. Yesterday afternoon
was not as good as expected because of the strong wind and colder weather. Today
three Germans had nice fishing both before noon and in the evening. A good number
of graylings between 35 and 40 cm and also a few 40 cm +. Report
29th of June.
Today the waterflow is up on 111 m3/s and will probably go down again till tomorrow
as we have had nice weather today. 10 flyfishers on the fly-zone had nice fishing
before noon today and I expect good fishing the rest of the day too. I am lookoing
forward to seeing the cathreports this evening. Report
28th of June.
Today the waterflow is up on 110 m3/s and will probably go up a little more during
the day because of the rain we had yesterday. Of the same reason the fishing yesterday
was not so good. The weatherforecast predicts nice weather again next week. Then
we just have to wait and see. Anyway, my experince is that the weather-gods have
more power than the weather-prophets. Report
27th of June.
Today the waterflow is down on 102 m3/s. There are 10 flyfishermen, all swedes,
on the fly zone today. Weather changing between rainshowers and sunshine today,
normally generates good fishing. Fishingreport comes tomorrow Report
26th of June.
Today the waterflow is down on 104 m3/s. 4 swedish fishermen from "Götene"
caught together 101 graylings on the fly-zone yesterday. Most of them between
25 and 35 cm, but also some bigger. Nice weather and favourable waterlevel should
give perfect conditions for fishing also this evening. Report
25th of June.
Today the waterflow is down on 106 m3/s again. 8 fishermen on the fly-zone had
good fishing before noon today. Nice weather and favourable waterlevel should
give perfect conditions for fishing this evening. Report
24th of June.
We had some rain yesterday evening that influenced the waterflow a little (up
to 110 m3/s). The waterlevel are still normal and conditions for fishing are good. Report
21st of June.
We had some rain last night that probabaly will keep the waterflow stabil during
the day (106 m3/s this morning). The last few days the waterlevel has been more
or less constant. Conditions for fishing are still good. The
predicted improve in the
weather
this afternoon should indicate good fishing this evening.
Report
19th of June (07.00 am). The
terrible weather that was predicted to reach our district last night didn't come
and at this moment the sun is shining from a blue sky. We had some rain last night
that probabaly will generate a minor increase in the waterflow during the day,
but conditions for fishing are still good. Sunshine after rain normally produces
mayfly hatching. Report
17th of June. Because
of some rainshowers yesterday the waterflow has increased from 104 m3/s to 106
m3/s today. The waterlevel is normal for this time of the summer. Conditions for
fishing are good. Report
16th of June.
Since the rain stopped the waterflow is reduced from 125 m3/s a couple of days
ago to 104 m3/s today. This afternoon the danica hatched in large numbers and
the fish reacted with lots of risings all over the river. Report
11th of June. Flow:
100 m3/s. Caused by some heavy rain showers the last couple of days the waterlevel
has gone a little up again, but conditions for fishing are still good. Temperature
more than 20 degrees C every day also generates high insect-activity. Report
9th of June. Flow:
90 m3/s. No temp. observation to day, - technical problems at the powerstation.
The waterflow at the moment is similar to what is normal at midsummer. Yesterday
the first yellow May flies were seen! Saturday, at 8 o'clock pm, there were
a lot raising graylings at the upper calm-flowing part of the flyzone. In spite
of nice weather, raising graylings and good water conditions, - no flyfishers
was observed the whole day. Of course we know that these people may be a little
bit conservative, but it is possible to have nice flyfishing even if it is
not week 26! Report
7th of June. Flow:

6th of June. Flow:
100 m3/s. Temp.: 16 degrees C Compared with normal: Waterflow lower, temp. higher.
Conditions for fly fishing are biginning to be good. The waterflow at the moment
is less than we had most of last summer. Coming week-end I guess fly fishing in
our district will take off. Report
